Welcome to Module 2: Advocating for Vision

Let’s be honest – how many times have you heard “that’s not really OT” when you mention vision? This module is your professional armor. Jaime dives deep into the legal backing you have for vision work, from IDEA to ESSA, and gives you the tools to advocate not just for your students, but for your scope of practice. This isn’t about becoming confrontational; it’s about having the confidence and documentation to say “actually, yes it is” when someone questions your vision work. You’ll walk away with fact sheets, talking points, and the professional foundation to expand your practice with confidence.

If you haven’t joined the USA School-based OTPs Looking for Change Coalition, NOW is a great time to do it!

Join Jaime and many other OTPs that are pushing the boulder uphill year after year to get equality, equity, and parity for SBOTPs.

Equal salary, equal retirement, equal benefits. It’s not asking too much. It’s asking for fairness.

There are many state groups, too. Does your State have a group? If not, are you interested in starting one? Individual states are below the USA group—learn more here: https://missjaimeot.com/ot-advocacy/
